(Riwayat Ahmad no. 8348, Muslim no. 1015 dan al-Tirmizi no. 2922)

Wisdom is a bounteous thing that is invaluable, and Allah reminds us in the Quran:

"Whoever is granted wisdom has indeed been granted something tremendously beneficial; but none reflect except people of insight."
[Quran 2:269]

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said,

“The wise saying is the lost property of the believer, so wherever he finds it then he has a right to it.”
(Sunan At-Tirmidhi 2687, Hasan according to As-Suyuti)

Allah’s Messenger s.a.w said,

“In the End Times men will come forth who will fraudulently use religion for worldly ends and wear sheepskins in public to display meekness. Their tongues will be sweeter than sugar, but their hearts will be the hearts of wolves.”
(Tirmidhi)

The prophet s.a.w said about our time

“In the End Times of the community of the faithful, people who adorn the mosques but leave their own hearts in ruins, who fail to look after their religion as much as they do their clothes, who forsake their religious obligations for the sake of their activities in this world, will increase in number.”
[Agreed upon/Muttafaqun 'Alaih]

Anas bin Maalik r.a narrates that Rasulullah s.a.w said:

“Indeed, the example of the ‘Ulama (real scholar) is like that of stars in the sky, by which guidance is obtained in the darkness of the land and water…”
[Musnad Ahmad]

The prophet s.a.w said, “The virtue of a 'Alim (real scholar) to a worshipper ('Abid) is similar to the virtue of the moon when it is full to the rest of the stars. And verily the Ulema are the inheritors of the Prophets. Verily the Prophets did not leave behind dirhams and dinars (money), but rather they left behind knowledge.”
[Abu Daud, Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah]
Some starts talking about the problem of the system of education. And some that talk about the problem, is also a part of the problem.

Before talking about the system, we must be clear about what is education truly is. Education is not just about unravel the potential. It has its aim, according to its worldview. If the worldview in the mind of those that are responsible is these things, and in those who try to repair it is the same corrupted worldview, then no matter how it is modified, the result will be pretty much the same.

What is education? What is the aim of education? And why education is important? Again, if you are a student in universities that should play your role in understanding all of this, but instead you are busy in participating in politics, you will not have time in thinking about of these problems and its correct solution.

I'm not saying you should not care about anything.I'm saying that you should know your own place and your priorities. There are scholars that understood all of these. And you have great responsibilities in understanding their great work.

Understanding what the learned say on the matter of education is very important before we try to give our own views. Perhaps there are major error in our view that we do not know of.

The aim of education is producing a good person. We go to universities to get education, not to get job. And many that criticize education is also part of the problem themselves as they are the product of modernity.

The matter of education and knowledge is a very serious business. It requires a lot of effort.

At least,we must understand education philosophically and understand what is secularization as a philosophical programme is all about. We must understand our own religion,we must understand our own self and we must, a students in universities, understand islam and the challenge of modernity.

We have a lot of work to do.It take years of serious effort and attention. No time for politics.
Students in universities must remember that the true aim of entering universities is seeking knowledge. Perhaps we should be precise by saying, seek true knowledge.

In universities there are people of knowledge, the learned. Seek them and learn from them. Listen to their advice, read their books.Think and contemplate.Attentively listen to their lectures, discuss with your fellow seeker of knowledge. This is your trust(amanah) as a student. Fulfill it. Don't waste time by joining politics. We as students have a higher priorities than involving ourselves in politics.

The challenge of this age is the challenge of knowledge. Before taking up the challenge,we must, first seek true knowledge as the preparation. It is a slow process and time consuming, therefore a seeker of knowledge must be patient.Haste make waste.

Equip ourselves to the best of our capabilities. To truly change the world, you must first, change yourself. To bring justice to the world, first you must bring justice to yourself. You yourself must be in a condition of justice first. To do that, you must know what is justice and who you really are.

And to make the world a better place, to make a world where people can be happy, first you must be a happy person yourself and truly know what happiness truly is.

And to know these things, you must seek knowledge.

If we truly think about this,we will realize that we have no time to involve ourselves in politics.Stay away from politics, and do your best in seeking knowledge.

Inilah medan juang kita.Inilah medan juang mahasiswa.Inilah medan juang para penuntut ilmu.Medan inilah medan kita.Medan ilmu.

Power is a divine attribute, then, people that are bestowed with power, have the responsibility to use the power in the right way.

It is not a simple matter, aside from amanah, power is a responbility, and a burden. And each of us, already have our own responsilibity to fulfill as our own self. Even our self is an amanah.

God does not burden us with what we cannot bear, than we, must know ourself truly, in order not to take amanah that we cannot bear.

Knowing our own self is a very important matter. It is not a small matter. And many do not know our own self. At least, if we truly think about this thing, thinking about our own self, why we are created, and where we are heading to, and what we should really do, then the way we act in this world will also changes.

It is more important to spend time on correcting ourself. And this is not an easy task. We should always be conscious and aware of Allah. Always in a state of remembrance of him.

Some seek power so that with that power, they may change the world, for the better. So that things can be put in the proper places. In other words, justice.

With power, people can uphold justice. That what people think. Then, we may ask, what is justice truly is? Is it up to the human mind? From what i fully believe, only mind, properly guided by Him, can truly understand this. That mind, is a mind that truly understand revelation. They are the rightly guided. The ulama, the scholars of islam. They are the true heir of the prophets.

In this age, many claim to be ulama, but many are not. It is very importtant to recognize the true scholars of islam, and follow them. Learn from them. Take heed of their advice and warnings.

Just becaue there are many opinions, that does not mean that there are not true answer.Just because many people say the same thing, it does not prove that they are right.

There are too many things to be done, but in our short life, that are little that we can do. Therefore, it is important to know the priorities.

And that is, to know yourself. En.Roslan once says in one of his lectures, it is an irony that humans today, with the great achievement in science and technology, seems to know many things about the world, but they know nothing about their own selves, about their final destiny, and why they are created.
